Nestucca Cutts

My friend Jeff spent summer's in Montana fishing small streams with his grandpa, but didn't know where to find small-stream-fly-fishing here in Oregon. Yesterday we went down to the Nestucca in search of some Sea-run Cutthroats.

This was his first time with a flyrod in many years, and it was fun to watch the casting rhythm come back quickly after so long (like riding a bike?) It was even more fun to watch this big one rise to his perfectly placed October Caddis.

Jeff's fighting a nasty cancer in his liver, but I'm praying for many more days like this in the future. The beautiful drive through the falling yellow leaves, the herd of elk, good conversation, and - of course - the fishing, made it a day I'll cherish for years.

Drum Machine

As long as there has been music, there have been drummer jokes. I have had the privilege of working with some great ones, and I have also worked with some of the others... 'nuff said about that. A band-mate of mine sent me this video.

Be sure to double click the video so you can check out the comments. My favorite one... "Is the tractor available New Years Eve?"
